We have just released a hotfix: Alpha v0.0.5a

This fixes the issue with enemy shields sometimes instantly recharging, along with a few other smaller issues. We highly recommend downloading this one ASAP as the instant shield recharge issue is a pretty severe one. Sorry about that!

In spite of our efforts, it seems that things will still be fairly prone to breakage as we continue to update the game.  We will do our best to prevent game-breaking bugs from sneaking in there, but given our extremely limited team of one programmer (me) and no QA, it is sometimes inevitable that a few of them will slip through.  We really appreciate your patience with us through these early stages of development. Ok...on to the patch notes.

Gameplay 

• Fixed enemy shields sometimes recharging instantly after being hit
• Fixed hull reaper restoring HP even after enemy hull is at 0
• Fixed game not unpausing when pressing escape key to exit map

Visual

• Fixed visual issue with boss missile weapons (eg. Necropolis Barge)
• Fixed visual issue with hull HP damage highlights

Writing

• Improved wording for "Poison slowly heals self" effect
• Fixed typos in boss event, merchant talk, raider ambush encounter, and technocult encounter
• War Knight renamed to Chaos Knight
• Adjusted Excrucior lore text

How to Install the Patch

If you have already bought the game, you can install the latest patch by following these instructions:

• At the top right corner of the Itch page, next to your username, click the "down" arrow to open the dropdown menu, then click "My Library".
  
  
• Find Void War in your library and click the "Download" button.
  
  
• That's it! You now have the latest version of the game. Your save data will carry through automatically.* You can delete the old version of the game whenever you want**.

*For those curious, your save data is not stored with the main game files and is actually located here: C:\Users\[your username]\AppData\Roaming\Void_War

**NOTE: Installing a new patch WILL break your last autosave, so make sure to finish your last run before installing.
